Location: Tucson, AZ

This project included 55 apartments and 5 commercial spaces. The most challenging and interesting part of this project was the adaptive re-use of the historic Flash TV warehouse. Our client, Hector Jimenez, wanted to embrace the history of the building and celebrate it through this project. This included restoring and re-using signage from the original building, and commissioning a Flash TV inspired mural by Ignacio Garcia. For natural light and egress we carved out a courtyard within the original footprint of the warehouse. Joists that were removed were charred and used on the facades of the buildings. Our goal was to build something new while holding on to our past.
